From bartenders, wait staff, baristas, brewers, cooks, and operations, we’re looking to expand the Pilot Project Brewing team with lovely, knowledgeable, craft beer people. We aim to hire spirited and dedicated individuals that embody the Pilot Project ethos and demonstrate expert knowledge of the brewing process, craft beer, cuisine, and Chicago’s fellow breweries. We value team members that create a welcoming and educational environment curated to each person’s needs.

Special Note: We will be hosting an open call for full and part-time bartenders, servers, baristas, and cooks on June 7 & 8, 2019. Bartender

Responsibilities:

  • Be awesome

  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service for every customer

  • Communicate openly and respectfully with all team members

  • Maintain standards for keeping the bar, tasting room, patio, and facility clean and sanitary

  • Answer questions and make insightful recommendations regarding our beer and food menu

  • Conduct impromptu and scheduled beer tastings

  • Change kegs and help maintain supply levels of all products

  • Pour and serve draft beer and, where necessary, mix non-alcoholic beverages into appropriate glassware using standard industry practices

  • Understand all functions of Pilot Project systems

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in casual dining environment

  • 21+ years of age

  • Basset certificate required

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server

  • Food handlers certification required

  • Knowledge of basic draft beer system maintenance, cleaning, and components

  • Expert knowledge of craft beer tasting and brewing processes

  • Mind blowing customer service skills and savviness

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

  • Be punctual, kind-hearted, patient, and stay awesome

Server

Responsibilities:

  • Be awesome

  • Remove dirty/unneeded glass and plate ware from customer’s dining space

  • Maintain supply levels of all products

  • Understand all functions of Pilot Project systems

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in casual dining environment

  • Must be 21+ years of age

  • Basset Certificate required

  • Food handlers certification required

  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server certificate preferred

  • Expert knowledge of craft beer tasting and brewing process

  • Mind blowing customer service skills and savviness

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Barista

Responsibilities:

  • Be awesome

  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service for every customer

  • Communicate openly and respectfully with all team members

  • Maintain standards for keeping the coffee bar, tasting room, patio, and facility clean and sanitary

  • Understand all functions of a semi-auto espresso machine

  • Prepare and sell quality coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques

  • Pour and serve draft beer and, where necessary, mix non-alcoholic beverages into appropriate glassware using standard industry practices

  • Create pastry display each morning and maintain supply levels of all products

  • Understand all functions of Pilot Project systems

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1+ year barista experience

  • Latte art experience preferred, training provided

  • Must be 21+ years of age

  • Basset Certificate required prior to first day

  • Food handlers card certification required

  • Expert knowledge of coffee brewing process

  • Mind blowing customer service skills

  • Full-time and part-time positions available with mornings, weekends, and holiday availability required

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Cook

Responsibilities:

  • Be awesome

  • Communicate openly and respectfully with all team members

  • Prepare, cook and plate basic small plates such as waffles, charcuterie, vegetables, and other small bites

  • Maintain standards for keeping the kitchen and facility clean and sanitary

  • Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and Department of Health regulations

  • Wash dishes

  • Remove dirty/unneeded glass and plate ware from customer’s dining space during slow periods

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Understand all functions of Pilot Project systems

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in casual dining environment

  • Must be 21+ years of age

  • Food handlers card certification required

  • Knowledge of beer and food pairings

  • Mind blowing customer service skills

  • Full-time and part-time positions available with nights, weekends, and holiday availability required

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

  • Be punctual, kind-hearted, patient, and stay awesome
